Requirements
- BA/BS is required.
- Minimum 2 years of portfolio management or related experience such as quant, portfolio implementation, Fintech, trading, coding, buy-side experience and risk management.
- Experience with SMA and Private Investments.
- Experience with relational databases and data visualization, including the ability to leverage Power BI to create insightful monitor dashboards and detailed analysis.
- Technical, problem solving, and analytical skills are essential. Strong preference for Python and SQL experience.
- Ability to learn and navigate BlackRock’s Aladdin ecosystem.
- Proactive communication style, with a service philosophy and risk mitigation mentality.
- Strong process awareness and ability to identify and address operational risk issues.
- Prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated record of flexibility, responsiveness, and self-starting personality with a proven track record to innovate.
- Series 7 and 66 highly desired, must be attained within six months of hire if not already licensed.
Responsibilities
- Hone an expert-level knowledge of the team’s trade modeling and order creation systems.
- Trade client accounts – invest/divest assets as appropriate, rebalance accounts, etc.
- Research and resolve individual account discrepancies to ensure a consistent client experience and minimize investment and operational risk.
- Manage incoming FA inquiries and provide a professional investment experience and resolve account-related issues accurately and efficiently.
- Build strong relationships across the organization by listening closely to our internal partners.
- Collaborate with the investment committee to define a robust and scalable portfolio implementation process.
- Acquire a deep functional understanding of Portfolio Management tools & processes while understanding the lifecycle for alternative investments.
- Identify, design & drive scale and automation opportunities as product expands in the market. Aid in production of various internal reports relating to trading and servicing metrics.
- Work closely with Alternatives team, operations, custodians, Advisors and key internal partners to ensure the effective portfolio management of alternatives accounts.
- Ensure continuous process optimization and improvements are in place for a best controlled, risk-handling and effective portfolio management team. Must be able set guidance, solve problems, and navigate trade-offs.
- Maintain awareness of industry changes in alternative investments and such impact on SMA Solutions, Blackrock and our clients. Provide strategic support for industry-wide changes that involve proper trade allocations and settlements.
- Possess a solutions-oriented mindset and challenge the status quo.
- Assist the Team with handling significant new account growth.
