Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, required.
- Strong knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have good planning, organizational and execution skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and established goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have strong negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Purchases all raw materials from approved suppliers needed to produce the company’s products in quantity and quality levels necessary to satisfy market demands.
- Reviews current raw material vendor base and investigates alternative suppliers to ensure the least possible cost to all Smithfield plant facilities.
- Works with external suppliers to ensure raw materials are delivered on time and in sufficient quantities to maximize producing plant production schedules.
- Assists Senior Buyers with PO entry, complaint entry, truck tracking, and report generation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior SAP experience, preferred.
