Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 2+ years of work related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or work related experience with a Master’s degree
- Understanding of the interactions between propulsion, aerodynamics, and flight controls as part of a collaborative Flight Sciences engineering team
- Knowledge of internal and external flow characteristics related to inlets, nozzles, and engine operation with the capability to perform propulsion system analysis tasks
Responsibilities
- Support the definition of requirements for propulsion systems within a model-based engineering environment
- Support the definition of functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle
- Support the configuration or design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance specifications
- Support a range of testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation activities aimed at predicting and validating system performance
- Support verification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components
- Support the review, processing and approval of engine and component qualification documentation
- Assist with propulsion ground and flight test planning
- Work under general supervision
