Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism and 2+ years experience in a professional digital news media environment
- Ability to edit news packages independently in Adobe Premiere
- Strong interest in news
- Familiarity with digital video and social media platforms
- Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with working in a fast, high-pressure environment
- Work schedule flexibility. Must be able to work AM, PM, weekend and holiday shifts and adjust to a rotational schedule to fulfill business needs
Responsibilities
- Researching, writing scripts and editing video for all digital platforms
- Monitoring breaking news, live events and search/social trends
- Taking part in creative brainstorming and generating story ideas
- Experimenting with new video formats
- Gathering elements including photos and historical footage
- Assisting reporters and producers with story research and newsgathering
- Working with teams across the company to create compelling video stories
- Completing production workflows within CNN’s content management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Foreign language skills a plus
