Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years of relevant experience in FAR/DFARS or trade compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and functions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws specific to controlled items, including ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).
- Prepare and manage export licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), and other related filings; support classification of commodities and technology (ECCN, USML).
- Follow business processes pertaining to trade compliance requirements and all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations.
- Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to assess and validate country-of-origin, content, and supplier compliance with relevant DFARS clauses.
- Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address compliance requirements and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor and interpret FAR/DFARS clauses related to material sourcing and product compliance, including specialty metals, Buy American Act, Trade Agreements Act (TAA), and NDAA 848/817 requirements.
- Help develop, update, and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Support internal compliance assessments and audits, including required documentation preparation and reviews with management, auditors, and legal counsel.
- Monitor regulatory updates and industry best practices to proactively assess risk and communicate potential impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with government systems specifically DECCS and SNAP-R.
- Strong understanding of ITAR and EAR.
- Experience with export-controlled products and services to U.S. and foreign government customers.
- Understanding of FAR and DFARS particularly regarding product/material compliance and contract obligations.
- Familiarity with unmanned/autonomous systems, AI, or software-driven platforms.
- Active or prior U.S. security clearance (e.g., Secret) is a plus.
