Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; a master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent professional certification in project management, e.g., PMP, is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management role is required, preferably within higher education.
  • Experience supporting large, complex initiatives in a leadership capacity is necessary.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning, risk management, and organizational change management is important.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, techniques, standards, and tools is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and management for a portfolio of executive projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with university objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and manage resources, scopes, risks, and changes effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior-level stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to foster effective collaboration and project success.
  • Aid in tracking, analyzing, and reporting project progress against key performance metrics to inform executive decisions.
  • Contribute to enhancing project management capabilities across the organization through participation in mentorship, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare high-level project communications to maintain clarity and alignment within the organization.
  • Advocate for a project management culture that emphasizes excellence, collaboration, and agility.
  • Maintain project governance and support the development of methodologies for executing project activities within time, budget, and quality constraints.
  • Conduct research and prepare documentation, reports, and white papers for executive review.
  • Identify and analyze administrative, financial, and operational issues, adapting to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Assist in decision-making processes on complex tasks while managing multiple concurrent projects.
