Requirements
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of working experience in bioinformatics and extensive managerial and cross-functional experience
- Track-record of leading and developing state-of-the-art and impactful bioinformatics methods
- Experience in Python
- Experience using Linux command-line tools and writing shell scripts
- Deep understanding of sequencing data and large-scale datasets
- Ability to visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form for both technical and non-technical audiences
- High scientific rigor and eager to teach and learn about new computational methods and biology
Responsibilities
- Envision, plan, and execute research strategies in collaboration with other cross-functional stakeholders
- Build a team of Bioinformatics Scientists and support their professional growth
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence
- Work closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems
- Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control
- Communicate findings clearly across all levels and functions of the company and act as a subject matter expert
- Present results at conferences and publish in top-tier journals
