Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) required. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Medical Affairs or related roles in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 2 years in a field-based or MSL position.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering field medical training and capability programs.
  • Deep understanding of Medical Affairs operations, compliance, and field engagement best practices.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM and field medical systems (e.g., Veeva Medical, Tableau, MIRO, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
  • Demonstrated success in leading change, building scalable solutions, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on execution.
  • Data fluency and operational mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of MSL Coaching and Development programs in collaboration with Regional Directors.
  • Provide input to global training lead on needs for MSL onboarding and ongoing development aligned with GMA strategy and therapeutic area priorities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Training, IT, Commercial Ops, PAX, Clinical) to implement resources, systems, and processes that enhance field medical effectiveness.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support for existing tools and platforms for KOL identification, profiling and engagement including CRM tools, insight collection, KOL management databases & data visualization tools for tracking and reporting KOL engagement metrics and outcomes.
  • Drive initiatives to improve scientific exchange quality, insight capture, and field force productivity.
  • Management and oversight of MSL slide decks and resources to be used in external engagement.
  • Proactively identify and resolve inefficiencies by streamlining processes, removing redundancies, and proposing new operational infrastructure where needed.
  • Provide guidance and training on systems and tools to drive adoption and efficiency across the Field Medical organization.
  • Develop and lead process for documenting and sharing best practices within MSL team.
  • Collaborate and facilitate MSL-focused training workshops and leads development and implementation of national MSL summits and capability-building forums.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal partners to align training needs and scientific communications.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure field medical performance, engagement quality, and value delivery.
  • Lead development of MSL portion of the quarterly impact report.
  • Partner with analytics and insights teams to translate data into actionable recommendations and storytelling.
  • Serve as the primary operational lead for Field Medical for the medical affairs IT Governance Committee.
  • Lead the development and implementation of key performance metrics, analytics, and processes, including tools and other resources to monitor and measure Field Medical performance and impact against established metrics including monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Act as a key connector between Field Medical and broader GMA and Commercial partners, ensuring alignment in priorities.
  • Provide strategic input into medical planning, scientific awareness continuum frameworks, and stakeholder engagement strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in implementation science highly desirable
  • Experience in rare diseases or nephrology is a plus.
