Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience
- Hands-on contracting experience with emerging technologies such as Generative AI (GenAI), Machine Learning Ops (MLOps) and/or Value-Added Reseller agreements is highly desired
- Experience with software licensing models
- Negotiating software contracts to drive year on year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line
- Understand and perform contract redlines
- Business acumen to connect technical requirements and concerns to contract performance
- End-to-end procurement process
- Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Responsibilities
- Build a strategy, lead and manage negotiations for Software (SaaS, perpetual, and subscription) contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions to the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives for RTX
- Review, draft, and revise a variety of contracts including software licenses, maintenance and support agreements and master agreements
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all contract negotiations, drafts and final agreements
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Partner with IT Asset Management (ITAM) function to lead/support software license audits
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including Legal, Finance, Cybersecurity to align contract terms with company objectives
- Manage relationships with a broad set of suppliers ensuring adherence to agreed terms and resolving contract related issues
- Manage digital application suppliers; establish supplier engagement plans and enforce overall governance within a high-volume, high-mix portfolio
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in software contracting
- Effectively manage an integrated master schedule of engagements, renewals, RFQs, etc. in a fast-paced environment
- Recommend and implement process improvements in deal tracking (savings, risk, metrics) and contract management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong project management skills and ability to convert requirements into executable strategies, and ability to develop and manage an integrated master schedule
- Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
- Ability to develop effective presentations and documents used for leadership reviews
