Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or related field
  • 0-2 years of professional design experience (internships and relevant coursework count)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking and visual design skills
  • Proficiency in modern design tools, particularly Figma
  • Understanding of design fundamentals: typography, color, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Basic knowledge of user experience principles and design thinking methodology
  • Familiarity with prototyping tools and interactive design concepts
  • Understanding of web and mobile design best practices
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS (preferred but not required)
  • Strong visual design skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to create clean, intuitive user interfaces
  • Understanding of responsive design principles
  • Basic wireframing and prototyping abilities

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality visual designs, wireframes, and prototypes under guidance from senior designers
  • Contribute to user interface design for web and mobile applications
  • Learn and apply design system components and patterns consistently across projects
  • Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback to improve design quality
  • Support the creation and maintenance of design documentation and specifications
  • Participate in user research activities and usability testing sessions
  • Learn to translate user insights and feedback into design improvements
  • Develop understanding of financial advisor workflows and user needs
  • Contribute to persona development and user journey mapping
  • Observe and learn from user interviews and research sessions
  • Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and constraints
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure design feasibility and quality implementation
  • Participate in sprint planning, standups, and other agile ceremonies
  • Communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders
  • Learn to advocate for user needs in product discussions
  • Learn and apply the AssetMark design system across all design work
  • Contribute to design system documentation and component library
  • Ensure consistency in visual design and interaction patterns
  • Help identify opportunities for new design system components
  • Maintain design files and assets in organized, accessible formats
  • Actively seek feedback and mentorship from senior team members
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices
  • Participate in design team learning sessions and skill-building activities
  • Contribute to team discussions about design process and methodology
  • Build expertise in financial services and wealth management domain
