Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 0 years’ experience OR a high school diploma/GED with 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Windows Server 2016 or later administration
  • SQL 2016 Enterprise or later administration, including backup
  • Active Directory design and implementation
  • IIS administration and troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Windows clustering
  • SAN operations and maintenance
  • Security updates in compliance with Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) policy
  • Security+ certification
  • Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a Cyber Software Engineer for the FAMS infrastructure
  • Manage and maintain security patches for Windows server environment
  • Develop and document technical procedures
  • Read, modify, and create shell script and scripts in various other languages
  • Supports design, development, documentation, and testing I-GATE applications software and systems in support of security compliance
  • Learn new technologies on own and work effectively independently, while still coordinating actions as required
  • Lead actions with peer systems administrators, network engineer, security teams, and software and hardware engineers
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management
  • Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space; manage virus protection on a routine basis
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, system components
  • Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with FAMS and NG development teams
  • Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Windows System Administration certification(s)
  • In-depth experience in Northrop Grumman’s I-GATE system administration
  • Knowledge in Information Transport Service (ITS) operations
  • Solid understanding of system back up and restoration
  • Scripting language (VBScript, PowerShell, Cscript, etc) knowledge
