Requirements
- MD or DO
- Active medical license.
- Experience working in informatics, providing data-based solutions.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare IT trends, tools, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and execution of a comprehensive informatics strategy, aligned with the healthcare system’s mission and goals, while providing visionary leadership and direction to the Informatics team, ensuring a culture of data excellence and continued improvement.
- Identifies opportunities for technological innovation and digital transformation to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, while also collaborating with clinical leaders to optimize the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other clinical systems.
- Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing team of information technology (IT) professionals, while promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the DTS department.
- Identifies and addresses skill gaps, providing training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
- Collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to understand technological needs and priorities, while fostering strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and service providers to ensure effective delivery of technology solutions.
- Leads and oversees major technology projects and programs, ensuring on-time delivery, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the impact and success of technology projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certification in Clinical Informatics, or Master’s degree in Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Certification in IT Management, Project Management (e.g. PMP, ITIL), or a related field.
- Experience leading teams in an Integrated Health system or non-profit organization.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards applicable to Healthcare IT (HIPAA).
