Requirements

  • Associate degree in business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5-6+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, forecasting, analytics and/or business intelligence required; (consumer electronics industry strongly preferred)
  • Management competence – Required experience in providing leadership to teams. Strong communication skills, teaching and coaching skills, with excellent time management skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Previous knowledge and experience with retail POS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and lead with the Management team in ensuring each team member is promoting the daily professional behavior defined by our Harman Store Customer Experience Standards.
  • Support a local store sales and marketing strategy and help manage daily to achieve financial objectives linked to sales growth, profitability and cost control.
  • Ensures the store is merchandised correctly to sell according to the monthly sales plan and that all promotional and marketing plans are executed as scheduled.
  • Review sales results daily and take aggressive action to correct deficiencies and maximize positive sales results.
  • Ability to identify performance gaps, root causes and develops and implements plans to close the gaps.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations with opening and closing as well as inventory and pricing tasks.
  • Lead by example, help customers and ensures that a high level of customer service is given and maintained, providing a world class Harman experience for each customer.
  • Act as a liaison along with the other Store Managers to partner with existing other Harman team members as well as dealer partners to provide service and accommodate for client store visits.
  • Assist and collaborate daily / monthly inventory projections, analyze and maintain forecasts. Requires close collaboration with the team.
  • Contribute and participate in assisting with employee targets and annual reviews.

  • Demonstrated creativity and out-of-the box thinking – Constantly pushing new ideas and programs to solve logistical challenges.
  • Interest in consumer electronics products/hard goods – Keen understanding of consumer wants and needs that can be effectively applied to creating cutting edge, market-winning retail sales strategies.
  • Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree preferred.
