Requirements
- Education Level: MFA
- Specific Degree: Costume Design
- Degree Substitute: an MFA in costume design or equivalent professional experience
- Professional experience
- Excellent teaching, mentoring, and communication skills
- Proficiency in collaborative process
- Knowledge of costume crafts (including dyeing and painting) and makeup.
Responsibilities
- Teaching coursework in costume design and other areas as needed
- Supervising and mentoring student designers
- Contributing to the ongoing development of graduate and undergraduate design/technology curricula
- Designing for both the LSU Theatre academic season and Swine Palace professional productions
- Assisting the costume shop manager with construction and management of costume shop as needed
- Maintaining an ongoing professional presence at the regional and national levels
- Contributing to the research, artistic, and educational environment at a Research I, flagship university
- Providing service and participating in faculty governance
