Requirements
- Doctoral degree in civil engineering or a closely related field (must be awarded no later than August 2025)
- Background in transportation engineering with emphasis on transportation planning and design, next-generation intelligent infrastructure, sustainable and resilient transportation infrastructure, and/or environmental impacts on transportation infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability as a researcher, scholar, and teacher in a relevant field
- Evidence of growth in scholarly achievement
Responsibilities
- Teach 9 credit hours per semester (with a reduced load of 3 credits for the first two years)
- Participate in all degree programs offered by the Program
- Engage in scholarly activities in areas such as smart cities and intelligent transportation infrastructure
- Obtain external funding to support research and scholarly activities
- Serve on committees at the department, school, and college level
- Promote and advance the school’s commitment to diversity in STEM
