Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- Bachelor’s of Science in nursing (BSN)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Two years of recent clinical nursing experience
- Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills
Responsibilities
- Support the Nurse Manager with supervising and supporting RNs and other nursing support caregivers
- Supervise admissions, conduct assessment of patient’s needs and initiate nursing care plans
- Evaluate and document patient progress
- Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit
- Serve as a liaison between the manager, caregivers and other areas within the organization
- Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit
- Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage
- Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives
- Assist in orienting new caregivers
- Participate in continuing education and in-service educational programs
