Requirements
- Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Bachelor’s Degree in a physical science or engineering, including at least four (4) one-semester courses in hydrology, geology, hydraulics, earth sciences or water resource management
- Three (3) years of analytical, technical, investigative or research experience in hydrology, water resource management or a closely related area
Responsibilities
- Conducts field surveys, observes and interprets hydrologic and geologic conditions
- Assists in analyzing and investigating the relationship between groundwater and surface water
- Studies and evaluates the quality and quantity of the groundwater system
- Analyzes associated engineering problems and determines needed data
- Provides advice on special studies to members of the department
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a geoscience field is preferred
