Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of relevant experience required.
  • Ability to manage professional staff and student workers, work effectively with peers and external constituencies.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements surrounding higher education.
  • Goal orientation with the ability and willingness to develop programming and methodologies for achieving goals and measuring them against appropriate metrics.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and occasionally work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage policy efforts relating to student success and retention.
  • Oversee disability accommodations and services (in collaboration with the University’s Office of Disability Services).
  • Provide support for community facing student-services tasks that have academic implications.
  • Provide support for dual degree program management including academic advising, information session planning, and liaising with other academic units.
  • Track and manage academic award determination and distributions.
  • Support professional identity formation accreditation requirements.
  • General academic advising, academic counseling, and crisis intervention support.
  • Collaborate and support the college’s student organizations.
  • Design, implement, and manage programs, trainings, and other educational opportunities in support of the college’s professional identity formation efforts.
  • Provide support for peer-to-peer student mentoring programs.
  • Oversee initiatives related to 1st-generation student support.
  • Serve as a touchpoint with legal stakeholders, including bar associations, courts, pro bono student opportunities and more.
  • Maintain a general awareness of basic needs resources available to students.
  • Liaise with university-wide offices that focus on student-centered outcomes.
  • Prepare correspondence for external constituencies, social media, and website content.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs in planning and implementing 1L orientation, student wellness initiatives, student organization leadership training, and community engagement.
  • Manage the scheduling and general logistics associated with information sessions related to exams, technology, end-of-year events, and more.
  • Support summer pipeline programs.
  • Assist with student handbook content management.
  • Creating content for student engagement and outreach (via newsletters, e-mail correspondence, digital media, social media, etc.).
  • Supervises student workers and manages the Law and Leadership Pipeline Program teachers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master’s Level Degree in Higher Education Administration / Student Affairs or a Juris Doctor degree or another relevant discipline is strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in student affairs is desirable.
