Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist – Abis

BA/BS Degree in Psychology or Human Services is strongly preferred or enrolled in 4-year degree in Psychology or Human Services field
At least one year experience working within the field of I/DD as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills
Willing to take initiative
Highly flexible to varied work schedule
Experience in computer skills and ability to teach others
College-level writing ability
Must demonstrate assertiveness/leadership skills
Must demonstrate clinical skills

To provide direct care services as needed
To train staff, which includes using the EMOE training system
Role Model use of person-centered philosophy and use of person-centered tools
To develop written, individualized habilitative plans
To conduct assessments – both behavioral and habilitative
To design effective data collection systems that allow progress to be monitored
To oversee/maintain the completion of all required paperwork
To provide the appropriate therapeutically documented level of an individual’s supervision
Train new staff on Level 1 competencies
Resource to staff by providing clinical support in absence of the BIS/Supervisor
Lead trainer of weekend staff on clinical interventions
