Requirements
- 5+ years of directly relevant work experience in an outside counsel capacity focused on real estate debt transactions
- Significant experience with the negotiation and preparation of real estate finance documentation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work multiple capital sources; balance and execute concurrent deals
- Flexibility and adaptability to various changing market dynamics and investing mandates
Responsibilities
- Direct interaction with deal teams, sponsors, brokers, internal GS legal counsel, and outside legal counsel on all credit investing activities within Goldman Sachs Asset Management Real Estate
- Focus on loan structuring, term sheet and loan documentation negotiations, and due diligence for Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s lending vehicles
- Lead documentation for loan closings and loan modifications while working with outside counsel, internal GS legal, the internal closing team and the loan origination teams
- Assist deal teams in investment analysis and presentations to investment committee
- Work alongside loan asset management team to monitor ongoing performance of loans and any potential modification / loan workout needs
- Assist with closing, legal documentation and amendment/modifications of back-leverage financings including master repurchase agreements, term loan facilities, and note-on-note transactions
- Oversee documentation of asset level pledge work for repurchase facilities, working alongside external counsel and internal deal teams.

- Deal track record in the last 4+ years across various loan types, markets and asset classes
- Motivated and collaborative individual who can be successful working as part of a cross-functional team with a results-oriented mindset
- Effectively manage and develop junior resources
