Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of operations experience in a refinery, chemical or petrochemical facility. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date) (Degree must be accredited in US.)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. (MPC determines valid status.)
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC Card.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
  • Travel Requirement is 5% or less.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Area personnel operate in a safe, environmentally responsible, and reliable manner to produce quality products adhering to all applicable ES&S rules, procedures, and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain culture of safety and environmental excellence through effective planning and execution of major projects and turnaround work. Understand rules and regulations required for shutdown, decontamination, and startup procedures and activities to execute work. Practice good stewardship of activities, respecting impacts to themselves, coworkers, and the community.
  • Drive culture of Production Centered Operations by ensuring successful implementation of production plan through planning, communication, and management of area resources.
  • Ensure long-term performance of area assets through effective planning and execution of projects, outages, and turnarounds (TAR). Optimize practices to ensure team’s readiness for shutdowns, scope execution, and startups. Drives continuous improvement through planning efforts prior to outages and capturing lessons learned.
  • Enable Operational Excellence by driving Operational Discipline in the area. Champions sound operational practices, including adherence to site and corporate operational policies, and effective procedure management and use.
  • Align team’s efforts to maximize reliability and availability of area equipment through proactive identification of issues, defect elimination, and preventative maintenance.
  • Develop and sustain culture of high performance and accountability, in and beyond area, by setting expectations, organizing, planning, and leading team activities. Identify and pursue opportunities for personal and team development to meet business and career objectives.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to meet business objectives by providing an inclusive work environment to leverage the diverse perspectives and backgrounds of each team member.
  • Establish and communicate clear expectations for organizational behavior and manages performance of team members through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Prior Leadership and Supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Prior operator, Shift Foreman and Day Foreman experience is preferred.
