Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Two years of professional experience in residential life, housing management, or student affairs preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and best practices in student affairs
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and crises
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and advocacy principles/practices
Responsibilities
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of off-campus housing, including 200 houses and one residence hall
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Lindenlodge residential community coordinator and serves as the primary staff member for Linden Terrace
- Oversees the planning of events and programs led by residential staff
- Serves on a regular on-call schedule with other live-in professionals to respond to evening needs of residential population
- Fosters a positive and inclusive living environment by promoting respect, diversity, and cultural understanding among residents
- Provides timely and accurate reporting on incidents, violations, and student conduct issues
- Mediates conflicts and facilitates communication between residents
- Collaborates with campus security to address safety concerns and maintain a secure living environment
- Enforces University policies and regulations related to off-campus housing, ensuring compliance and student accountability
- Coordinates move-in and move-out processes, ensuring a smooth transition for students
- Conducts regular inspections of properties to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards
- Addresses and resolves any housing-related issues or concerns raised by students or nearby community members
- Manages budgets for all areas of responsibility
- Serves as a campus security authority (CSA)
