Requirements
- At least two years of clinical experience in a pediatric ICU setting
- Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V
- Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Other certification as required: PALS
Responsibilities
- Provision of patient care at the top of licensure
- Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease
- Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation
- Performing procedures as outlined by specialty and referral for health problems
- Education of the patient, patient’s family, clinical staff, and others
- Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan
- Consultation with other healthcare providers
- Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care
- Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes
