Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in anatomy, biological science, or a related discipline
  • Experience working in an anatomy laboratory
  • Proficiency in productivity and educational technology software such as Google Apps, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and supervise student workers who assist with anatomy lab operations
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job
  • Outstanding organization, interprofessional communication, excellent time management, reliability, and the ability to work independently and with others of varied experience and skill levels.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the inventory of specimens and models
  • Maintain inventory of anatomy lab supplies, place orders, and confirm receipt of purchases
  • Track usage trends and anticipate needs to ensure smooth lab workflow
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of supplies and equipment, and monitor lab safety and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with vendors, including those handling hazardous waste
  • Track data on lab usage by students, equipment, and supplies, and generate reports
  • Assist with coordinating preparation and set-up for anatomy labs and practical exams
  • Maintain specimens and transport them to and from teaching sessions in the classroom
  • Maintain lab schedule
  • Maintain and operate anatomy lab equipment, computers, AV systems, and iPads
  • Transport, lift, and move plastinated specimens in the lab setting
  • Assist in coordinating events hosted in the ARC
  • Assist in lab instruction as qualified and needed including the use of virtual reality instruction
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Anatomy or a related discipline
  • At least 2-3 years of experience managing and coordinating operations of an anatomy laboratory
  • Experience with virtual anatomy platforms (e.g., VH Dissector, Complete Anatomy), learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), and interactive or related educational technologies and tools
  • Experience managing multiple projects and group needs effectively
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
