Aircraft Worker – Electronics

Must have completed Navy Aviation Electronics Technician, AT, “A” School
Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory
Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties
Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident)
Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks
Secret Clearance Required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization

Makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade technicians
Assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems
Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and functional components using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment
Reads and interprets manufacturers’ and airline’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications
Performs progressive, phase, periodic, and other hourly, conditional or calendar inspections
Examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks
Inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments
Tests engine operation using testing equipment to locate source of malfunction
Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories
Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections
Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft
Enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily
