Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years on the assigned UH-60, AH-64, CH-47 Mission Design Series (MDS) is Required.
  • All experience must be within the six (6) most recent years.
  • U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required.
  • Valid (FAA) A&P certificate is preferred, not required.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Mechanic Tools and Toolbox are Required: Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox. Toolbox to be shadowed and each tool etched with PID. (Recruiter will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Security Clearance NAC-I (T1) Public Trust. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and replaces aircraft structural components to include stingers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.
  • Repairs, fabricates, modifies and installs structural parts, forming blocks, and shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques.
  • Mixes and applies fiberglass materials, primers and paints to aircraft surfaces, and applies corrosion control treatment to aircraft metals.
  • Balances rotary-wing aircraft blades.
  • Makes emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures.
  • Uses common measuring tools, precision measuring gages, and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs.
  • Performs checks; carry out inspections and removal of components.
  • Comprehends technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Requisitions bench stock for repair of aircraft structures, maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Prepares request for turn ins and repair parts and structural components.
  • Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools.
  • Performs final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced.
  • Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
  • Assists aircraft technicians and mechanics on various tasks.
  • Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested.
  • Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality).
