Requirements

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of company instructions, company processes, quality and original equipment manufacturer manuals.
  • Knowledgeable in the assembly methods and techniques used.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledgeable in the quality requirements relating to the production process.
  • Thorough knowledge of Foreign Certification requirements and other regulatory bodies.
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of AS9110, SABER
  • Thorough knowledge of Cost of Poor Quality
  • Thorough knowledge of Corrective Action Request
  • Thorough knowledge of internal audit policies and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • Knowledge of the following preferred: Jet Engine MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) workscopes, LRU (line replaceable unit) services, component repair services, I and O level repairs, government & military services, and commercial product services.
  • College diploma in mechanical engineering technology; or equivalent.
  • Experience as an inspector in an aerospace environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews factors in light of quality of product and reliability of quality during production.
  • Conducts internal audits on departments and business units to ensure compliance with company instructions and policies.
  • Ensures compliance to the applicable quality procedures affecting the production process in the cell.
  • Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Research, compiles and reviews company procedures.
  • Collects and analyzes quality data for the purpose of identifying trends with respect to non-conformance documents.
  • Reports necessary information and offers solutions to production, materials and the company as a whole, to correct specification or process problems that are occurring.
  • Monitors warranty procedures including investigation, root-cause, corrective action and follow-up to ensure that continuous improvement is occurring.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Verifies the completion of the work instructions identified on the task control number (TCN) and the correct configuration and identification of the end product to ensure task compliance.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.
