Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of experience in developer community management
  • Excellent communication skills and a knack for creating a friendly, inclusive environment
  • Experience working with platforms like Discourse, Discord, GitHub, and Reddit
  • Comfortable building and maintaining community automations using platforms like Common Room or Zapier and via API
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable working remotely in a fast-moving environment
  • A genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed

Responsibilities

  • Actively support and engage with our community on our forum, Discord, GitHub, subreddit, and social media platforms
  • Welcome new members, moderate discussions, and help answer questions or route inquiries to the right team member
  • Highlight outstanding community contributions through shoutouts, social content, and newsletters
  • Help gather and synthesize community feedback to inform product and community improvements
  • Work directly with the Modular Champions, our most active and engaged community members
  • Help coordinate onboarding, track contributions, and maintain ongoing relationships with Champions
  • Identify and nominate new potential Champions based on community engagement and leadership
  • Support recognition efforts, such as featuring Champions in blog posts or at events
  • Help organize and coordinate online and in-person events including meetups, hackathons, and workshops
  • Contribute to content such as event recaps, recordings, and community spotlights
  • Actively collaborate on Modular’s larger developer relations, product, and marketing strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with open source communities and community-driven languages like Python, Rust, Julia, and LLVM a plus, but not required
