Requirements
- Master’s degree required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems independently.
- Ability to be organized and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canvas, and CAMS.
Responsibilities
- Teach subject areas including contemporary/modern, ballet, jazz, or tap technique; theory and composition, global dance forms, and dance history.
- Communicate learning goals and assess student progress.
- Develop adaptive thinking and problem-solving skills in students.
- Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Hold classes as scheduled and be punctual.
- Enforce university policies and procedures.
- Distribute the syllabus to students by the first class meeting.
- Follow the established course schedule and provide notice of changes.
- Require use of course texts as necessary.
- Administer exams or evaluative activities during final exam time.
- Determine final grades as per the syllabus.
- Mentor students and promote volunteer opportunities, research, and responsible citizenship.
- Engage in scholarly activities and creative endeavors.
- Supervise laboratories and off-campus learning activities.
- Participate in shared governance and university events.
