Requirements

  • Extensive expertise in the acquiring industry, with a deep understanding of its structures, business models, and hands-on operational experience.
  • Strong network and relationships with key account merchants, with the ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration across product, technology, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Proven experience in driving highly complex commercial projects from concept to execution, including negotiation, structuring, and implementation.
  • Strong operational management skills, ensuring sustainable business growth and long-term partnership success.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of business development experience in the acquiring businesses, fintech, or related sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of the payment landscape in North and/or Latin America.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • High level of ownership and adaptability, with a strong ability to drive initiatives independently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and onboarding of merchants across key industries, including retail, tourism, eCommerce, and digital services.
  • Develop and deliver tailored cross-border payment solutions that align with local market dynamics and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee negotiations, internal coordination, and the successful onboarding of merchants through all project phases.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with acquiring banks, PSPs, ISVs, SaaS providers, and technology integrators.
  • Drive the creation of scalable, sustainable ecosystem models that support merchant growth and operational efficiency.
  • Promote multi-party collaborations that involve technical enablement, marketing co-activation, and data-sharing initiatives.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of complex commercial projects, including negotiation, structuring, and execution from initial stages to successful go-live.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure project alignment, timely delivery, and operational success.
  • Provide strategic direction and troubleshoot operational challenges during the post-launch phase to optimize partner performance and business impact.
  • Ensure that all partnerships and business initiatives are scalable, sustainable, and promote long-term success.
  • Leverage operational expertise to overcome challenges, improve efficiency, and ensure merchant satisfaction throughout the lifecycle of the partnership.
  • Work closely with product, legal, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure full alignment with local regulations and market requirements.
  • Provide valuable market insights and feedback from merchants to influence product development and go-to-market strategies.
