Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED.
- At least 6 years’ operational experience in the employment and expert analysis of U.S. Navy sonar systems.
- Demonstrated ability to reconstruct and analyze active and passive sonar data.
- Demonstrated ability to develop acoustic collection plans and deliver briefings to Senior U.S. Navy commands.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks, and managing time.
- Attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent judgment.
- Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.

Responsibilities
- Conduct acoustic reconstruction/analyses of Fleet exercises/operations to determine the effectiveness of active and passive sonar systems at sea using quantitative measures of effectiveness (MOEs) of operational importance to the Fleet.
- Active and passive sonar signal analysis supporting advanced research and development. Preparation and review of analysis presentations, reports and databases.
- Presentation of analysis results at internal and external working group meetings.
- Coordinate and conduct at-sea experimental reconstruction activities, including acoustic signal analysis & performance improvement analyses in support of cross-functional system engineering and development teams within the Environmental Sciences Laboratory.
- Work with Navy personnel to acquire the technical data needed to reconstruct Navy at-sea exercises.
- Liaison with Navy and civilian organizations on system development, procurement, and support matters.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fifteen or more years of operational experience in the employment and expert analysis of U.S. Navy sonar systems.
- Extensive experience with Naval intelligence collection, analysis and production methodologies such as qualification as U.S. Navy Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) Specialist.
- Experience briefing and advising Command level Officers and senior civilian personnel.
- Extensive experience in U.S. Navy surface ship and submarine anti-submarine warfare (ASW) operations such as qualification as U.S Navy Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) Specialist, ASW Specialist and/or Sonar Supervisor.
- Extensive experience with Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems (IUSS) sensors and operations such as qualification as U.S. Navy IUSS Master.
- Knowledge and operational experience current and planned U.S. Navy sonar systems and Advanced Processor Build (APB) and Advanced Capability Build (ACB) sonar systems.
- Experience with Matlab, Python or similar programming languages.
