Accounting Manager

Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Accounting, Business or similar combination of education and experience
CPA preferred
5-7 years’ experience in progressively challenging accounting positions, preferably in a not-for profit organization
Knowledge of the principles and practices of GAAP accounting
Proficiency in ABILA MIP preferred, Microsoft Office Suite required
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Intercultural competence; demonstrated skill in understanding cultural differences
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with stakeholders, staff, and community members
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Supervise timely and accurate bank reconciliations
Revenue recording and reconciliation
Supervise recording of AR and Cash receipts
Manage grant accounting including the reconciliation between the donor database and the accounting database, and the net assets schedule. Lead communication with program managers and development
Oversee the payroll process and the proper importing of balances into the accounting database. Coordination with the Payroll Specialist and HR team
Prepare core audit schedules and tax return worksheets
Participate in communication with auditors
Maintaining the fixed assets register and coordinating with the facilities team on purchases and capitalizations
Create and maintain cash flow projections
Contribute updates to the Accounting Manual and develop accounting procedures with strong internal controls
Manage and supervise team of four accounting staff, provide guidance and direction as needed
Assist in month end closing ensuring journal entries are properly posted
