Requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to prepare financial statements and reports
- Experience with SEC reporting
- Familiarity with internal audit processes
- Proficiency in Excel and general ledger systems
Responsibilities
- Prepare schedules to support the monthly consolidated financial statements
- Prepare monthly tax provisions and book general ledger entries
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of the monthly earnings packages
- Prepare annual/quarterly statutory-basis statements and filings
- Prepare monthly closing package and supporting schedules for multiple subsidiaries
- Record investment income and carrying values into the subsidiaries’ general ledgers
- Assist in the preparation of AFG’s SEC forms 10-K, 10-Q and 13-F
- Perform internal audits and review internal controls for effectiveness and efficiency
