Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required) Accounting
- Four years Accounting experience (public accounting experienced preferred).
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification preferred (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- In-depth working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting for leases, including performing the financing versus operating test, maintaining account reconciliations and journal entries related to leases, rent expense, and lease related items.
- Responsible for equity accounting items including accounting for stock-based compensation items. Includes account reconciliations, journal entries, providing support to human resources, and preparation of related financial statement items.
- Prepare and/or assist with the accounting valuation processes including fixed asset impairment testing, intangible asset impairment testing, and other non-routine valuations and accounting estimations.
- Prepare certain footnotes for the 10-Q’s and 10-K’s, and maintain the related accounting records and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial statement results, report on changes in financial position/budget variances, and provide analyses and explanations on such, both through independent research and through coordination with other individuals and segments for explanations.
- Responsible for general ledger maintenance, complex journal entries and accruals, account analysis and reconciliation, ensuring a timely and accurate accounting close process, and maintaining related records. Review and verify the accuracy and completion of journal entries, and research and resolve any issues.
- Assist in the design and preparation of budgets used in measuring, planning, and controlling business operations and provide to senior management for review.
- Prepare various internal schedules and reports for senior management and the board of directors used for analysis and presentation of results.
- Consult and/or educate associates and management on financial statements and reports; provide analysis and research to assist with identifying and resolving business issues.
- May review the work performed by accounting clerks or lesser experienced accountants engaged in general accounting activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best accounting practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
