Requirements

  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate AND three years of accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 2 work
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND three years of related accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 2 work
  • 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND five years of related accounting experience
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Exceptional math/accounting skills
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
  • Willingness to comply with all local, state, federal, and agency regulations while demonstrating a strong commitment to ethical accounting/financial reporting practices
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for auditing/reviewing the agency’s SPOTS card program
  • Review rules and laws for applicability to disbursements and reporting activities; identify weaknesses in processes and recommend actions to correct
  • Oversee filing and retention of OLCC disbursement records
  • Assist financial services leadership with object code and coding updates as needed
  • Prepare bond and fiscal year accounting
  • Oversee new Government Accounting Standard Board (GASB) pronouncements
  • Oversee debt service fund to capitalized (accrued) interest received for proceeds and payment of the principal and interest
  • Review and update agency Risk Profile annually in support of DAS Risk Management
  • Coordinate on Agency Capital Projects involving Financial Services
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
