Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One (1) year of directly related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Empowers employees with the knowledge they need to make informed benefit decisions by answering questions about health, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as flex spending and voluntary products. Maintains confidentiality throughout all communications and data interactions
  • Reviews and processes requests and documents related to daily benefits operations. Acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers, ensuring smooth communication and quick resolution of any issues. Maintains employee benefits files and benefits database. Audits benefits-related payroll results for accuracy and works with payroll team to resolve issues
  • Monitors, verifies, and reconciles enrollment and financial data from and between various sources. Allocates expenses appropriately within various data systems.
  • Assists with implementation of new systems, program offerings, processes and procedures. Evaluates and documents processes and procedures and makes recommendations regarding opportunities to improve standards and efficiencies. Remains up to date on benefit and compliance regulations and internal process and procedures by participating in educational opportunities and seeking continued professional development.
  • Presents at new hire orientation and retirement preparation seminars. Prepares written and graphic communications in support of team initiatives. Educates retirees on retiree benefits and navigate the retiree benefit process.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with benefits, including data entry, annual open enrollment processing, reporting, and resolving employee concerns.
  • Experience with self-insured medical and dental programs.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with benefits software, preferably Workday.
  • HRCI, IPMA, or SHRM certification.
