Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in accounting or finance
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in preparing and analyzing financial information
- Knowledge of SEC reporting, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, Proxy and XBRL
- Advanced accounting concepts, practices and procedures
- Accrual based accounting practices
- Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Ability to implement changes to standard procedures when required by specific situations and circumstances
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels
Responsibilities
- Uses financial reporting accounting software to prepare SEC filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Proxy and Form 8-K, including XBRL)
- Prepares reports of financial information for management
- Prepares external reporting for SEC related disclosures
- Supports the Investor Relations team in the preparation of investor presentations and information for the Board of Directors
- Researches and makes recommendations to resolve unusual or irregular transactions
- Responds to internal/external auditor request and inquiries and coordinates with internal and external auditors on accounting issues
- Researches issues regarding SEC disclosures of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Follow new and emerging SEC reporting accounting guidance, as well as evaluate potential impacts on reporting
- Support and facilitate implementation of SEC reporting disclosures
- Identifies and recommends process improvements to increase efficiency in processing or analyzing financial information
- Facilitate implementation of changes to the financial statements and SEC Filings, as required
- Provide additional ad-hoc support across financial reporting and performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
- Assists with implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of systems and tools used to support SEC filings and internal reporting
