Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate skilled understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles, theories, and concepts such as statics, dynamics, physics etc. to solve technical problems.
  • Skilled in using engineering CAD and PLM tools (CATIA and ENOVIA).
  • Skilled power tool use and applications as required to perform job function.
  • Foundational understanding of how to translate customer needs to product CTQ (critical-to-quality).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Skilled in applying Part Metrology Methods (Go/No Go Gaging, CMM, Variable Gaging)
  • Have the skill to conceptualize and define new product architecture based on inputs from multiple sources, both internal and external.
  • Cross functional skills to engage with groups such as supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing, business.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact within a variety of departments and support groups.
  • Able to coach junior level Engineers.
  • Able to assess a situation or problem and make intelligent decisions with all outcomes considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Product Design Engineering support for assigned product(s) or components.
  • Initiates design concepts and designs assemblies and systems in accordance with established objectives and requirements.
  • Utilize CAD modeling techniques to develop detailed designs.
  • Leverage GD&T experience to understand tolerance zones and perform more advanced/non-linear tolerance stackups.
  • Works on both primary and secondary processes, ensuring assessment of how designs may impact tooling complexity and cost.
  • Facilitates costing requirements for assigned projects.
  • Support project engineers to manage sample Prototypes, ESL, MSL builds, and qualifying tests.
  • Takes analytical measure to resolve technical issues in NPD or production.
