Requirements
- Minimum of 2 Years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or an equivalent STEM related discipline; Minimum of 0 Years with master’s degree; Minimum of 0 Years experience with PhD
- Minimum of 5 Years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or an equivalent STEM related discipline; Minimum of 3 Years with master’s degree; Minimum of 0 Years experience with PhD
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Government security clearance
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes and applications (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
- Experience with CAD Software Solid Works/NX/ or Creo
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed design tasks using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other software tools to develop and document ground support equipment designs
- Interfacing and communicating with customers, program and functional management, other spacecraft engineering disciplines, and component suppliers
- Review of completed analyses and drawings to ensure designs conform to MGSE standards
- Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Creo Parametric and Windchill PDM/PLM or equivalent engineering tools
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink
- Experience with suppliers and supplier coordination/management
- Experience creating designs using machined steel and aluminum, sheet metal, welded fixtures, additive manufacturing/composites components and assemblies
- Practice in making and reviewing engineering drawings with GD&T in 2D and 3D MBD’s
