Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the intermodal ramp, ensuring efficient and safe handling of containers, equipment, and vehicles while focusing on safety, performance & productivity.
  • Lead and mentor a team of ramp personnel. Provide guidance, support, and training to enhance their performance and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Promote a culture of safety, conduct safety training sessions, and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Coordinate and oversee regular maintenance and repair of ramp equipment, including hostlers, cranes, and loading/unloading machinery. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Efficiently allocate manpower, equipment, and resources to meet operational requirements. Monitor and adjust staffing levels based on workload and demand fluctuations.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess ramp productivity, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures to meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate communication with customers regarding shipment status, delays, and any other relevant information. Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains. Implement initiatives to streamline ramp operations, reduce turnaround times, and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate records, generate reports, and document daily ramp activities, ensuring data integrity and providing insights for management decision-making.
