Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Cyber Security preferred
  • Requires 5-8 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with large scale ISP networks and advanced router and routing security functions
  • Knowledge of network security principles including control plane, data plane and element security
  • Familiarity with IP standards and protocols
  • Experience with technical discussions/negotiations with vendors
  • Experience working with development teams and providing guidance for lab proof of concept work and testing teams
  • Basic knowledge of Linux
  • Experience with industry standardization process in IETF, IEEE, ORAN, Cyber security risks
  • 5+ years of progressive experience on: Juniper router, Cisco routers, Cyber risk, Network Security, Access control lists, BGP route controls and router protection techniques
  • Familiarity with firewalls, especially Palo Alto or Juniper SRX Firewalls, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the router software vendors involved to create a standardized design for new security features that can be shared across vendors and provide a standard way to check software status on the equipment
  • Implement security controls, policies and standards for core network that cover: Routing security, network compartmentalization etc., to reduce cyber risks and increase security controls to the core telecom network
  • Ideation, testing, proof of concept and support for various cyber related projects facing AT&T’s core telecom network
  • Analysis, of complex security issues and the development and engineering activities to help mitigate risk
  • Analyzes various hardware and/or software solutions for the core telecom network recommending purchases and identifying modifications to fit AT&Ts cybersecurity needs and that of our operations teams
  • Develops policies and procedures to minimize network intrusion, malware events and vulnerability issues for internal and external customers
  • Applies measures to block malicious code and applications. Includes forward looking research, planning and strategy to strengthen our stance against future cyber security threats and enhance our mitigation techniques and technology solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with firewalls, especially Palo Alto or Juniper SRX Firewalls, is a plus.
