Requirements

  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Certifications in CCLP, CIFFA or CSCB would be an asset.
  • 5 years of Customs & Logistics experience in the Supply Chain, manufacturing environment.
  • Must be experienced with HS Tariff classification and International Trade compliance regulations to prepare Shipping & Customs documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Must be highly organized with ability to meet tight deadlines, preparation of reports and spreadsheets for transportation and Customs duties analysis.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative as part of a team.
  • Must have strong Interpersonal, communication, problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with US & Canadian Customs process ACE & ACI, PAPS, PARS, FAST etc.
  • Knowledgeable with various custom documentation and shipments forms.
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain logistics processes and Customs integration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with customs compliance regulations administration for the Flynn Group Supply Chain shipments for both CBSA and CBP US Customs.
  • Prepare import/export shipping documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for customs paperwork compliance with regulatory authorities.
  • Provide support to the team on customs-related matters.
  • Work with the Flynn Group National Logistics team in preparing all modes of shipping and customs paperwork supporting all Flynn Branches inbound/outbound Supply Chain shipments for on time deliveries.
  • Customs Compliance administration, tracking/tracing of shipments, preparing reports, data analysis, record keeping and assisting with preparing CCI and USMCA certificates.
  • Liaise with Flynn Branch purchasers, Shippers, Project Coordinators to facilitate coordination of Shipments in all modes within the Supply Chain maintaining on-time delivery.
  • Assist with FG BOM final costing, gathering source country information for Steel & Aluminum products costing.
  • Assist with creating Flynn Group product database for Steel & Aluminum Derivatives percentage content to determine duty payable for 2025 New Tariffs imposition for USA Exports /Imports.
  • Assist with National Logistics tracking and tracing, all modes shipments (Air, Ocean, Intermodal Rail, Trucking) and updating the shipment tracking log in a timely manner.
  • Able to process courier shipments and customs paperwork with various approved Flynn National Couriers, FedEx, DHL Purolator, UPS on their network portals.
  • Preparation of Supply Chain shipments Import & Export customs documentation to streamline the flow of goods across international borders and through customs.
  • Review customs documentation, including import/export declarations, bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other necessary forms.
  • Assist with USMCA Certificates new Items addition eligibility.
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with the Flynn Team.
  • Work with the Traffic & Customs compliance manager to ensure all import and export shipments comply with the relevant customs regulations, laws, and policies of the countries involved.
  • Calculate and verify import duties, taxes, and other charges to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Work closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth and efficient customs clearance processes for all 36 Flynn branches.
  • Ensure compliance with all CBSA and CBP regulations for all shipments, both import and export.
  • Logistics and Customs compliance manager to stay up to date on changes in CBSA and CBP regulations, ensuring internal procedures are followed accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in CCLP, CIFFA or CSCB would be an asset.
  • Knowledgeable in transportation regulations, laws, policies, various types of transportation equipment specifications to optimize shipments.
  • Experience with customs clearance process, Certificates of Origin.
