Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related technical field and at least 5 years of related control room operational or technical supervisory experience. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related technical field and at least 7 years of related control room operational or technical supervisory experience. In lieu of an associate’s degree, a High School Diploma or equivalency degree and 10 years of related control room operational or technical supervisory experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers internal/external stakeholders, governing and emergency agencies
- Ability to supervise and lead others
- Strong investigative and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and simultaneously manage multiple projects to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new computer software programs quickly
- A valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Effectively oversees the safe and reliable operation of the gas and electric distribution systems; working in conjunction with field supervision, monitor and raise the overall performance, efficiency, and productivity of field personnel during business hours and after-hours
- Is responsible for the functions and staffing of the Distribution System Operations; track and report against team key performance indicators
- Maintains a high level of proficiency in tools such as ADMS, MWM, OMS, ARCOS, and other related systems; act as the ADMS operational process owner
- Champions safety, employee engagement, and continuous improvement
- Leads the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training necessary to establish centralized Distribution System Operations
- Keeps informed of industry best practices regarding Distribution Control Center and Dispatch organizations to enhance productivity and operational excellence
- Provides assistance during major electric and gas emergency planning activities and events
- Provides leadership and direction as emergent issues arise to facilitate appropriate resolution to stakeholders
- Oversees the Distribution System Operations training plan and Training Management System
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters in Electrical Engineering
- Strong working knowledge of gas and electric distribution system operations is preferred
- Established understanding of the computer systems utilized to operate the distribution system such as OMS, MWM, ARCOS, MyGeotab, ADMS is preferred
