Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years in an Agile environment.
- Proven track record as a Release Train Engineer or similar role within SAFe.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification required.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) preferred.
- Proficiency in Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and version control systems.
- Strong understanding of SAFe principles, roles, and practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to manage large-scale Agile teams and foster collaboration across distributed teams.
Responsibilities
- Act as the servant leader for the Agile Release Train (ART), fostering collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
- Manage and optimize flow within the ART using tools like Kanban systems and Agile metrics.
- Facilitate PI (Program Increment) Planning events, ensuring alignment on objectives, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure seamless execution of program goals.
- Track and manage program risks, dependencies, and impediments, driving resolution to ensure ART progress.
- Facilitate regular synchronization meetings, such as Scrum of Scrums and ART syncs, to enhance communication and coordination.
- Support ART in adopting and scaling Agile practices, ensuring adherence to SAFe principles.
- Monitor and report progress to leadership using Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and PI objectives.
- Lead Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops to drive continuous improvement at the program level.
- Promote a culture of innovation and collaboration, encouraging teams to experiment and improve processes.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to teams and individuals, supporting their Agile and SAFe journey.
- Ensure adherence to security guidelines, including NIST SP 800-171 for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Support the integration of Agile tools and technologies for enhanced productivity and collaboration.
- Develop program schedules, staffing plans, and performance reports to ensure successful execution of deliverables.
- Coordinate travel, training, and onboarding for Embedded Teams, including administrative processes and technology overviews.
- Provide continuity and mitigation planning for teams located in foreign locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a DoD or federal contracting environment.
- Background in AI engineering, data labeling, and pipeline management tasks.
- Expertise in managing dependencies and risks in complex systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting international teams or working within the constraints of SOFA agreements.
