Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer required
- 10-15 years of related experience required
- Experience working with large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies
- Strong written and verbal skills
Responsibilities
- Provide technical planning, biological process and mechanical design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects
- Prepare engineering calculations, run process models (i.e. Excel spreadsheet, Biowin, GPS-X, etc.) and support analysis of alternatives
- Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda to document alternative analyses, basis of design, business case evaluations, P&ID reports etc.
- Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standards
- Prepare/assist with specifications and permit submittals
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Document design changes and communications
- Conduct on-site inspections and technical guidance for start-up as needed
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Participate in the Florida Water Environment Association, or similar organization as a committee member
- Publish and present papers at state and national conferences
