Requirements
- Support and optimize complex communication systems, specifically focusing on Motorola Land Mobile Radio Products, including state-of-the-art Motorola MOTOTRBO.
- Provide advanced technical assistance for specialized systems and product applications.
- Serve as the main point-of-contact for support related to USCP’s Motorola Solutions Radio System.
- Handle the provisioning of communication system infrastructure.
- Optimize the performance of RF and Broadband architecture, encompassing legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.
- Program, configure, optimize, test, and document complex communications systems.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of wired communication systems, including local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance, covering cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.
- Install server hardware/OS and software infrastructure, and troubleshoot system/application issues to ensure resolution.
- Extensive knowledge of RF systems, including transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
- Solid understanding of standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as packet switching techniques.
- Detailed understanding of Motorola Solutions systems permitting the individual to assist in the design, troubleshooting and maintenance of Motorola Solutions product lines.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, emphasizing trend analysis and documenting results to ensure proper system operation.
- Assist in the development of internal documentation pertaining to system configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Develop solutions for complex technical issues encountered during system implementation, upgrades, or support.
- Deliver a superior knowledge of one or more of the following: Motorola Conventional, SmartNet, SmartZone, MCC Console systems, Secure Operations, and ASTRO A7.x Digital systems and installation procedures.
- Must have experience with Motorola Customer Programming Software and experience with radio subscriber programming.
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux server hardware, operating systems, and software infrastructure is essential for resolving system and application issues.
- Help develop local agency/user surveys.
- Ensure that Motorola Solutions installed equipment is maintained with FCC and USCP stipulated requirements.
- Generate weekly reports detailing activities and achievements.
- High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Strong interpersonal and self-management skills to effectively collaborate with Motorola customers, subcontractors (MSS), and internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Service).
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Verbalize and communicate concepts and recommendations to the customers and within the Motorola Solutions organization.
- Proven ability to quickly resolve customer issues, especially under pressure.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the latest technologies and troubleshooting methods.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams to effectively design, implement, optimize, and transition advanced communication systems, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Maintain inventory of Field Replaceable Units.
- Understanding of IA systems and group policies in a network administrative position.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ideally the individual should have at least one network certification: COMPTIA Network + or Security +, CCNA, NRS1
- Strong preference for experience with RF Infrastructure Technologies, including Motorola SmartZone, Smartnet, Console Systems, and ASTRO Conventional and Trunked equipment.
- 3+ years of experience with one or more of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking Equipment, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, ASTRO 25, P25, WAVE VoIP, or Military experience.
