Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in acute care nursing required
- Strong clinical skills and understanding of nursing protocols, safety guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
- RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BCLS – Basic Life Support required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support dependent on unit required
Responsibilities
- Leads and mentors nursing staff, promoting a work environment conducive to high morale, effective teamwork, and professional growth.
- Conducts regular staff meetings to facilitate communication, share updates, and address nursing practice or patient care concerns.
- Serves as a clinical role model, demonstrating best practices in patient care, documentation, and communication.
- Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures, including health record documentation, patient assessments, and safety protocols.
- Supports new staff onboarding, managing the orientation, induction, and development of new nurses to ensure effective integration into the team.
- Oversees patient care delivery, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure evidence-based practice.
- Coordinates patient care activities, delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring continuity of care across shifts.
- Monitors patient outcomes and performance data, participating in quality improvement initiatives and implementing process changes as needed.
- Ensures safe administration of medications and treatments, following established protocols and responding promptly to adverse reactions or patient needs.
- Promotes effective communication among peers, physicians, staff, and leadership, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
- Assists with staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development, providing feedback and support for nursing staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
