Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
- Meets requirements for registry by ARRT
- Attended an accredited Nuclear Medicine school and/or completed an appropriate training program under the supervision of a Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Director of Radiology or Chief Radiologist
- Maintains and documents continuing education requirements as required by AART and CNMT
- Completes age specific education
- Completion of age specific competency checklist
- Completes competency requirements as a registered radiologic technologist
- Maintains department specific educational requirements
- Current ARRT registry with card on file in Director’s office
- One year or more as a Radiologic Technologist
- Adequate capabilities as determined by department administrator
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties in preparing patients for scans of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information
- Operate radioscopic equipment to produce scanograms and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas
- Provide appropriate age-specific patient care to neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations
Preferred Qualifications
- One year or more as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Current NMCTB registry with card on file in Director’s office
