Director – Sands Institute for Chinese Language and Culture

At least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Minimum of five years of experience in program development, international education, or cultural exchange
Demonstrated success in leadership roles, including at least two years of management experience
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
Expertise in Chinese language, culture, and history
Proven ability to manage budgets, develop strategic plans, and oversee program implementation
Strong verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills

Provide visionary leadership for the Institute’s academic, cultural, and community-focused initiatives
Supervise the Institute’s team and oversee all aspects of its operations
Lead strategic planning and guide the direction of the institute
Promote the Institute’s mission through public speaking engagements, conferences, and strategic communication efforts
Collaborate with the Sands Corporation and other stakeholders to build and strengthen relationships
Cultivate and manage partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations
Secure funding to sustain and expand the Institute’s activities through grant writing and donor relations
Oversee the development of scholarship programs, graduate assistantships, fellowships, and faculty grants
Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to integrate language and cultural studies into broader curricula
Manage the Institute’s budget, staff, hiring processes, and resources
Prepare reports, proposals, and updates for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure that the Institute’s programs are effectively administered and uphold high standards of operational efficiency
