Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of five years of experience in program development, international education, or cultural exchange
  • Demonstrated success in leadership roles, including at least two years of management experience
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
  • Expertise in Chinese language, culture, and history
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, develop strategic plans, and oversee program implementation
  • Strong verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership for the Institute’s academic, cultural, and community-focused initiatives
  • Supervise the Institute’s team and oversee all aspects of its operations
  • Lead strategic planning and guide the direction of the institute
  • Promote the Institute’s mission through public speaking engagements, conferences, and strategic communication efforts
  • Collaborate with the Sands Corporation and other stakeholders to build and strengthen relationships
  • Cultivate and manage partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations
  • Secure funding to sustain and expand the Institute’s activities through grant writing and donor relations
  • Oversee the development of scholarship programs, graduate assistantships, fellowships, and faculty grants
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to integrate language and cultural studies into broader curricula
  • Manage the Institute’s budget, staff, hiring processes, and resources
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and updates for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that the Institute’s programs are effectively administered and uphold high standards of operational efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree
  • Prior experience leading an international language or cultural center
  • Record of success in grant writing and management
  • Knowledge of the Las Vegas community and its cultural landscape
