Requirements
- Completion of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
- Completion of IV Therapy Course and/or maintain working in a setting of IV therapy administration.
- Minimal of 2-5 years’ experience as a licensed nurse.
- Current Practical Nurse license issued by the LLR Board of Nursing for South Carolina or Compact Licensure Agreement.
- Current certification in BLS and to be maintained biannually.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the responsibility for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Responsible for selective activities in directing, coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices under the direction of the RN.
- Collaborate with the RN and oversee the health and medical care of patients.
- Ensure each patient’s medical, nutritional, and emotional needs are met.
- Utilize knowledge of growth and development, cultural, religious and ethnic differences in providing appropriate care to the patient and updating an ongoing plan of care for the patient.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
